The Katy Area Economic Development Council has been actively pursuing strategic economic growth in the Katy area. The Council's economic development activities will primarily target the commercial and light industrial sectors, as well as selected large-scale retail projects. Other activities that the Council undertakes are those that are intended to retain and expand existing primary sector businesses and commercial activity in the area and to promote and advertise the benefits of locating selected new primary sector business and commercial activities to the Katy area.
