West Houston Access

Downtown Houston / Energy Corridor                     
The reconstruction of Interstate I-10 West, the Katy Freeway, began in June of 2003. Portions of that section west of State Highway 6 are already completed. The full reconstruction of Interstate 10 from Loop 610 to Katy will be completed by the end of 2008 and is certain to be a record for fast urban freeway construction.

The Texas Department of Transportation “fast-tracked” one of the most complicated roadway construction projects in the State of Texas. Their efforts will bring congestion relieve much sooner to the traveling public and save millions of dollars in lost time and fuel.

Grand Parkway / Hwy 99
The Grand Parkway is a planned 180 mile loop around the Greater Houston metropolitan area which currently has several sections currently open to traffic--from I-10 West to US 59 South and in Baytown on the east side of Houston region and will tie the Greater West Houston region's residential and commercial centers together with a vital new north-south link.

Westpark Tollway
The entire 20-mile Tollway will extend from SH 99 (Grand Parkway) on the west to IH 610 on the east. The project drastically improves mobility for Fort Bend County and Katy residents in the area by creating a new east-west corridor with access to SH 6, Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8), US 59 and the Galleria Area.
